Founded in 2011 F I C is a Frankfurt-based young and dynamic advisory firm specializing in business partnering and investment opportunities for strategic partners, institutional investors and international banks. Moreover we assist German enterprises and institutions with their strategic projects in emerging markets, especially in the Middle East. Our Team

Yusef Ahmed (MBA, CEFA, CIIA) – Founding Partner & Managing Director

Mr. Yusef Ahmed is Managing Director and one of the Founding Partners of F I C Frankfurt International Consulting GmbH. He has been engaged in the field of private and corporate banking, private wealth management and investment banking since 1996.

Before founding F I C Mr. Ahmed was in charge of the strategic alliances management and the international business development for Baader Bank, Munich. Prior to that he worked with Deutsche Bank within the private and business banking as well as in the private wealth management division. His international work experience includes positions held in Frankfurt, Munich, Muscat, Dubai, Riyadh, Cairo, Bengaluru and Monterrey.

Prof. Dr. Waldemar Pförtsch – Speaker of the International Advisory Board

Dr. Waldemar A. Pfortsch is a professor for International Business at the University of Pforzheim, Germany, and a visiting professor of marketing at China Europe International Business School Shanghai (CEIBS). Dr Pfortsch had also been a visiting Associate Professor at Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and Lecturer for Strategic Management at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

During his stints with UBM/Mercer Consulting Group, Arthur Andersen Operational Consulting and LEK Consulting, Dr Pfortsch worked across Europe, Asia and North America, and was largely instrumental in helping companies develop their international strategies. His earlier positions include sale and strategy at Siemens in Germany and the USA. He had also been an Economic Advisor to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Torsten Kuck – Member of the International Advisory Board

With a career span of over 15 years, Mr. Torsten Kuck has been a seasoned finance professional and has held various senior management positions. Prior to joining the international advisory board of F I C, Mr. Kuck was the CEO of NM Fleischhacker, a lead broker at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, and Board Member of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange Council. He had also been a Member of the Board of the German Federal association of securities trading companies. Among the financial institutions he had worked with are Baader Bank, GBCM Dubai, Commerzbank and DBM Deutsche Boersenmakler.

Dr. Awwad Al Nesafi – Member of the International Advisory Board

Dr. Awwad Al Nesafi has over 15 years of managerial experience in the public sector in Kuwait. With a strong managerial and financial background as well as a local and international experience of working on senior positions, Dr. Al Nesafi has had a consistent track record of successfully employing the best practices to improve efficiencies.

Since 2011 he has as been the Managing Director at KCME, a Kuwait-based gas company. Prior to that he had worked as a Member of the Board of Directors and a Managing Director at the KNG (Kuwait National Guards). Educated in Kuwait, the USA and the UK, Dr. Al Nesafi is familiar of working in a multicultural environment. He holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland and a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Essex.

Saad Raja – Member of the International Advisory Board

Mr. Saad Raja is an engineer from UET, Lahore, and has an MBA from the London Business School. He has been a board member with ePlant ventures since 2002, prior to which he had worked at senior management positions in the international asset management and investment sector. His diverse experience includes tenures with Diachi Life Mizuho Asset Management and Industrial Bank of Japan – Asset Management International. He joined F I C’s International Advisory Board in February 2013.

Wolfgang Schäfer – Member of the International Advisory Board

Mr. Wolfgang K. Schaefer is a seasoned financial professional and for most part of his career he has been with some of the leading German and international banks. Holding a licence as ‘Geschaeftsleiter’ for more than 30 years, he has been General Manager at The Bank of New York, at Misr Bank-Europe and Bank of Beirut (UK) Ltd. in Frankfurt. Specializing in foreign trade and payment services, his stints have had a strong focus on the Middle East and Russia.

Other important financial institutions that he had worked with include Commerzbank, Chase Bank, Lampebank and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Opening, restructuring and management of foreign banks in Germany as well as export finance and payment services are some of the core areas of his expertise. He had been a member of the board of directors of the Ghorfa – Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry e.V. in Berlin.
